It's taken several months, but the makeover of Pitt Academy's main office is finally complete! Pitt, the only private, accredited special education K-12 school in metro Louisville, won the OEC Extreme Office Makeover contest in April, a clear favorite of the independent judges' panel.
Pitt's winning space is the hub for all administrative activity at the school. It's not only the primary work area for the multi-tasking administrative assistant, but also serves as the reception area where parents and visitors are greeted. OEC's makeover team not only refreshed the dated look, but tackled the challenge of creating both an organized and efficient workspace, as well as an attractive public space.
Fresh paint and new carpet considerably brightened the dark-panelled space, making it much more welcoming. But the biggest impact was probably made by replacing the hodge-podge of mismatched furniture with coordinating pieces in both the reception area and office itself. Comfortable guest seating, a new desk task chair and additional storage all make a huge difference in keeping the space organized, as did a a three-hour consultation with an organization expert.
As the winner of OEC's Extreme Office Makeover, Pitt also received new framed artwork, desk lighting & accessories, a shredder, laminator, waste receptacles and a wide variety of office supplies.
